Corn plants are one of the more common crops found in the veil, due to their fast growing rate and production of multiple foods. In the west, it is not uncommon to see villages with these plants as their main source of food and economic growth, as they can export these grains to the mountainous people for a good sum. Mages are content with simply using them for food, as the large amount of young creatures they keep require a large amount of supplies.
